Free Eye Camp - GRP

In an extraordinary demonstration of humanitarian aid, the Global Relief Plan (GRP) organization recently orchestrated a significant free eye camp in the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. This initiative was designed to deliver crucial eye care services to the local populace, ensuring that financial constraints would not hinder access to much-needed medical assistance. The event was a tremendous success, providing a variety of services including complimentary eye checkups, medication, surgeries, and the distribution of free prescription glasses.

The free eye camp emerged as a beacon of hope for the people of Nangarhar province, many of whom had limited access to quality eye care due to economic limitations. Through the magnanimous support of the GRP organization, individuals received comprehensive eye examinations, facilitating early detection and treatment of various eye conditions. Furthermore, those requiring surgical interventions were provided with the necessary procedures, ensuring they could restore their visual health and enjoy an enhanced quality of life. Additionally, the distribution of free prescription glasses had a significant positive impact, enabling individuals to correct their vision and perceive the world with renewed clarity. This remarkable endeavor by the GRP organization stands as a testament to compassion and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of the people in Nangarhar province.

A total of 563 patients received treatments, broken down as follows:

  • 185 patients were treated for Allergic Conjunctivitis.
  • 88 patients received treatment for Spring Catarrh, which included medication and sunglasses.
  • 105 patients with Near Vision Disturbance were provided with glasses.
  • 35 patients underwent Cataract Surgery.
  • 110 patients with sight problems were provided with glasses.

This initiative underscores the transformative power of humanitarian aid and the profound difference it can make in the lives of those in need.
